Presentation Note – Impact of AI Regulation

Scenario:

A technology-sector client has asked the firm for an update on the EU AI Act and its potential impact on UK businesses supplying AI systems into Europe. The supervising associate asks you to prepare slides and speaking notes for a 5-minute client presentation.

Task:

Produce:

1. A short slide deck (4–5 slides) covering:

   • Overview of the AI Act (risk-based approach).

   • What counts as “high-risk” AI.

   • Obligations for UK-based companies supplying into the EU.

   • Key timelines and next steps.

2. An accompanying email to the associate summarising the key points, and highlighting areas of legal uncertainty where clients may need ongoing monitoring.

Output format: Short email + bullet-point notes for slides.
